How do i remove windows me for my hard drive
 

How do i remove windows me for my hard drive and computer so i can put windows 98 in or can you tell me how i can put windows 98 on my other hard drive. every time i put mu other hard dive in my computer it first comes up and say hhd error my other hard drive has no operation system on it

Hello Mark, unfortunately you can't dual boot with 98 and ME so yo would need to set up each OS on a separate drive.

If you are going to be using your other HDD for Windows98, the easiest option is to format your HDD from the windows 98 setup menu ( warning: you will lose any data stored on this drive).

If you have any files on this drive you will need to back them up onto either you primary HDD or onto a CD\DVD.

When your PC boots go in to your BIOS settings (usually F2) and change the Boot priority to CD\DVD, select your hard drives and choose your alternative HDD (the one you want to install windows98 on).

This will change your settings so that it will boot from the windows98 CD and install on the correct drive.

The windows98 setup will start, then follow the on screen instructions, you will need to format the partition to a FAT32 file system ( please ensure it is the correct drive ).

Basically you have two separate HDDs installed onto your computer, and when you boot up you will need to go to the bios settings to change which drive to boot from, depending on which OS you want to use.
