My sister gave me an old ibm thinkpad. the hard drive was wiped clean and has an external cdrom. i want to put windows 98 on it but i don't have any program on floppy, i do however have win98 and winME on cd. what would i need to do to set up windows on my old laptop?

Hello turtle, I think you will find that it's a very similar process to William Wilsons' tutorial:http://www.syschat.com/install-windo...py-cd-463.html.

If you need any more help then get back to us.

Regards

Martin

the original 98 installer is a 16 bit installer itself, without needing another version. As it was meant to be installed from the 98 boot disk.
