How to add "Defragment" to your Right-click Menu?

Do you work with a number of computers? If your answer to this question is yes, then you know that going through the defragmenting process is a very time-consuming task. Although it is possible to schedule this task, there are times when this needs to be done manually. This tip will make this burden easier for you. By cutting down the steps for this job, you will have more time to do other important things and increase your productivity at work. I will teach you how to add the "Defragment" option to your right-click menu. Just follow this step by step guide.

Launch the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key + R. You may also start a new task from your Task Manager.

Type "regedit" into the box and then Enter. This will open the Registry Editor.

Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT >> Drive >> shell in the left pane of the registry editor window.

Next, right-click on shell and set up a new key called "runas"

Double-click on the default value of runas in the right pane. This will set it to “Defragment”.

Right-click on runas and create a new key called “command”.

Double-click on the default value of command in the right pane to “defrag %1 –v -u”.

Restart the system.

Now, the right-click menu of your drives will now have the defragment option. Defragmentation of that drive will begin when you click on that option.
