help with resetting a computer

I have a computer that is about 5 years old and runs really slow. I believe that it is running XP. Is there a way to reset it back to 'new' again? I dont need anything on it that was installed. I just want it running faster so my 4 year old can use it for games online

Look for the XP serial number (key) located on the back or side of the computer. If you have the key, just re-install XP.

Also more RAM will always speed up XP, current RAM is very cheap. As it gets older and obsolete, price goes up.

If you don't want to re-install you'll need to run several cleanup programs.
Also if you're kid will be online with it make sure you have a current anti-virus and firewall program installed.

Free apps and utilities.
