Help!! oopma loompa virus thing

Okay, so I tried to download the adobe flash player on my computer so i could see a movie on youtube, right?
and then next thing i know, a black box comes up, then goes away.

then the oompa loompa song comes on
"oompa loompa doopety doo, i've got another puzzle for you..." and the song just keeps PLAYING and PLAYING, and also...little boxes come up and they say "you got owned by oopma loompas!" and such.

^ it wont go away! and i cant copy and paste anything into emails or IMs or anything anymore.

i called the geek squad but i cant get free help, i called my cable service for tech support and i need to pay them, too!
can someone please help me get rid of this virus?
i got laughed at by everyone i called, which is understandable since i would laugh too if someone told me this...
but its annoying!!!

annoying to you and funny to us, lol.

You obviously did not download a legitimate file. What is your OS and if it's xp have you tried system restore?

um

well yes, i have xp.

BUT
i went to the control panel and looked at system, went to "system restore" and hit okay, but i guess i need a disk for that?
hmm. so my dad and i are going to best buy on thursday to pick up a disk to clean off my whole hard drive....but that'll erase ALL my songs, and my limewire, iTunes, AIM, photoshop....ughh.

is there an easier, faster way to do it without erasing all my stuff?

oopma loompas!!

Okay I have windows XP and this is what I did to get rid of the oompa loompas.
Search for mpa file when you see the file oompa oompas open that folder you can't just delete it because it says something about full or proected. Rename the file then close the folder. Restart computer then do alt, ctrl & delete you should be able to open that now look for the file name that you renamed the oompas I named mine STOP. So I could find it easy. Find file name and right click and end process that should stop you from hearing the song. Now go back and find your file you renamed and delete it from your computer. Then you should be good as new. :humble: :cheer2:
When I tried system restore and to reformatte still had oopma loompas in computer :(

I just fixed a computer that had the same problem.
You will need to know how to use HijackThis (copy and paste this url in a web browser and then download)
HijackThis .

If not familiar with HijackThis, send me an email [email protected] and I can walk you through it.

Off Site Virus Cleaners

If you can access the internet and get to Trend MicroSystem, download their Sysclean.exe file, and the latest pattern file...set it up on the c:\sysclean\*.* and then run it from the cmd prompt from the Start button... You can do a google search and it will take you right there...or even use their House Call system whereby they will clean you up over the internet...

TTFN...
