Sounds like for your keyboard you have a driver or conflicting hardware issue. Is this a laptop? They sometimes need a driver from the mfg.

For the memory test and HDD tools Ultimate Boot CD has some good tools. http://www.syschat.com/download108.html

The OP is double posting, can all posts be kept in the one link it saves the hassles of chasing around thius forum replying to the same query multiple times.

This is the first post to be replied to...

It would help also if the OP stated what his specs are and whether his keyboard is USB or PS2.

After a reformat and re-installation of the operating system the motherboard drivers must be installed....by going into safe mode windows loads a generic driver to allow the use of keyboard/mouse so that the other drivers are not started and can be removed or repaired while in safe mode.

It would help if the OP did not double post.

<rant> Also the "Mods" should be doing their duties by merging these two posts together.

The moderation is abysmal here at SysChat with people posting all over the forum. Come on Admin & Mods get your act together... </rant>

Did your computer come with a driver disk? If so you need to install that.
