Hard drive help..please!

ok so I am not very computer savy so this might be a dumb question but here it goes anyway. I have a dell XPS M1330 laptop and about a week ago my computer stopped coming on..the system said "No rebootable devices" well I called the dell people and they said I needed a new hard drive which they sent me..and I was wondering if there is anyway I can transfer the memory for the old hard drive to the new one I just received?thanx in advance!

I am assuming you are refering to your data or applications and not the memory

I would first check if your hard drive is still working maybe it's just a bad connection or your bios has changed
If your hard drive still works but you just can't access it then you may have a chance to recover your files

If it's not working at all there is not much you can do to recover the files

If the hard drive is dead not functioning you will need to send it off to a specialist who can read the data from the platters. This is big dollars. If the hd is working but lost the boot sector you can perform a number of things to recover the data via software and even maybe repair the drive.
