fixing gateway default
 

how do i determine the numbers or letters for the default gateway for wired and wireless??

The default gateway is the server on a local network that is used to access the internet from the local area network. if you are useing a dialup or DSL or Cable modem connection you must leave this empty. if you are on a LAN then ask you Sys Administrator.

sys admin? what u mean by this?

start>run>
type "ipconfig"

this will list all the settings of your connection, the default gateway is the same for all computers on the same router.

can someone please explain really simpley how to fix the default gateway cos i cant log on to windows live :confused:

if logging into windows live is your only internet problem, then the gateway isn't your problem.

1) Check your username/password
1) try logging in by the web first.
2) Check any firewalls, that may be blocking windows live
