Fire Fox Browser

Using fire fox browser for several months. Mozilla Fire Fox 3.0 It performs well. However, it ceases to function once in 3 or 4 months. ''Fire Fox is not responding'' comes on.
Go to Google and ask for ''fire fox'' - - - download ''fire fox'' - - - and it works as normal as if nothing happened. All my previous files, folders are intact.

Is there a way to prevent this annoying stoppage of work ?

And why does this happen ?

Thank you.

after long periods of usage firefox and other browsers lock up. This is mostly caused by the cache not having adequate storage capabilities. enlarge the storage folder for firefox and it should clear up

The fast and best way:

Get the password and username backup utility free (google it) and backup data.
go bookmarks -> organise bookmarks -> import and backup -> backup

uninstall firefox (keep personal data)
install new and updated firefox (some versions let you import it on install, if so you shouldn't need the backups)

everything is where it was like it was and firefox 100%faster and 100% more stable.

hope I helped.

Oh I am sorry ... I wanted to know how to increase the storage of cache in Fire Fox. As advised by S n M.
Anyway now am getting a regular pop up window that says

Fire Fox crashed and it is sorry and asks if I like to start a new session or continue with the one that I was in last. I choose whichever I wish and Fire Fox comes on without any hitch whatsoever.

Thanks for the time.
