favorite email provider?

I'm interested to know who your favorite email provider would be?
Mine would be yahoo, reason: they have a lot of space and they have been around for a long time and chances are they will stay around a long time too.
:)

Re

Mine would be credos lol. Since it is my own email provider.

Firefox 02-08-2006 06:43 PM

GMail is the way forward...simply because of the amazing amount of webspace and the fact that Firefox lets me know if I have mail without having to open a new tab...sooooo conveinient

eShutterBUG 02-08-2006 07:43 PM

I'm with Gmail, always and forever. (maybe.) They are definitely the best, I love how they do things like

-automatically save everyone you've emailed with into your contacts list, deletable of course if desired
-saves an entire email conversation with 1 or more people into 1 file
-gives you customizable labels to mark each email with, I made mine things like "reply" or "urgent" if I don't have the time to read it.

I'm a Gmail fan too, I would like to share with you all one of my favorite Gmail firefox extension which allows you to use your Gmail Space (2.5 GB) for file storage.

Gmail File Space Extension (gspace)
This extension allows you to use your Gmail Space (2 GB) for file storage. It acts as a remote machine. You can transfer files between your hard drive and gmail. This is similar to "Gmail Drive" on windows platform. Your gmail account looks like a FTP host and you can upload and download your files. After you install, you get an option called "GSpace" in your "tools" menu clicking on which opens the window for transfer of folders/files.

Download it here ...

I forgot to add that like everyone I have about a billion invites. Anybody want one?

Another reason I like it so much is because it's ad-free. :)

Knightmare 02-23-2006 12:59 PM

Ad-Free? Didn't GMail have some Adwords relating to your emails?

ChatMod#1 02-24-2006 01:27 AM

I dont use GMAIl anymore, because if i put something in Spam it keeps coming in Spam instead of permanently blocking it and from stoping it from coming back again. And i dont think GMAIL is ad-free. I think i have seen some ads recently.

twister 03-10-2006 01:29 PM

Gmail is my favorite email server. They have lot of space to store your email.
But the problem with Gmail not everybody can have it.Someone must first give you an invitation before you can signup with the email service by google.

javester 03-10-2006 03:52 PM

We should have a poll for this...

Gmail by far!!!!

Just yesterday, I had to tutor my uncle on how to migrate from hotmail to gmail and I was just amazed at how "primitive" the hotmail experience is.

Granted, it created the free email space, but hotmail is "trapware". It tries its best to keep you locked in. No POP forwarding... no Reply As... no easy way to export contacts... nada.

For us tech-savvy folks, this is easy, but try explaining all these things that you need to do to move to gmail to your 65 year old uncle...

It even treated my gmail invitation to my uncle as SPAM!!!! It smells illegal to me that they can do that. Calling Judge Kollar-Kotelly!!!!

I had to send the gmail invite by sending it from my gmail account as myself rather than the gmail mailbot.

great extension, it is among the dozens already installed into this wonderful browser, which goes along with a wonderful E-mail Gmail, (didn't mean to rhyme that)
I also have a hotmail passport, and a few other E-mail accounts(university, website, etc)

Risherz 03-12-2006 02:41 AM

I would say that right now no e-mail service provider is as good as Gmail. With the amount of extensions and downloads that you can use with Gmail and the storage space it provides, Gmail is by far the best. Not to mention the new services that are going to come along with Gmail in the future (such as Google Calendar and all that). I also seem to like goowy a little. It's not as good but it's a change from the normal perception of e-mail, but it the people who created it might have used a bit too much flash.

chrysalis 03-12-2006 02:55 AM

Gmail is the best web-based e-mail I've used, but it's not perfect. The ads are subtle, but I hate them because I know that they're automatically generated through certain keywords in my e-mails. I feel like it spies and assumes things about me. I understand that no human ever looks through my e-mail, but I still don't like it. A friend of mine wrote me from Maui and to the left were a bunch of "adsense" type ads about where to stay in Maui and something about Maui nightlife. I hate that. As IF I care about your zillion dollar hotel package. If I go to Maui I'm cheaping out and being a bum. I'd rather put up with Yahoo's annoying Lavalife ads.

I stay with Gmail, though, because of the auto save which has saved my life a lot of times, and because the format is so user-friendly. And of course there's all that space.

chocolatee 03-30-2006 10:33 AM

my favorite is yahoo...i'm just used to it...but i think gmail is good too...

outofbreath 03-30-2006 10:36 AM

Yeah, I am curious too how your Gmail is ad-free, unless you were joking. :)

I've learned out to tune out the ads, although sometimes they can be moderately amusing.

My ranking even with all Gmail's faults is Gmail > Yahoo Mail > small ISP mail > Hotmail

Really been annoyed by Hotmail the few times I've tried it out.

ChatMod#1 03-31-2006 12:42 AM

I have got a couple. I would say, Hotmail, Yahoo, AIM and GMAIL.:)

avona 04-09-2006 02:06 PM

well gmail is the best in every way

extremepixie 04-09-2006 06:45 PM

I have accounts at all 3 but I never use my hotmail or yahoo mail accounts for anything. I ocassionally use my gmail account. I have a lot of domains though, so I use my own hosting for 99% of my mail.

Jormin 06-02-2006 09:36 PM

Re: favorite email provider?

I use Gmail Hosted with my domain and my secondary account is with Gmail. I also like Juno.

i use a lot Gmail but the great disadvantage with that is you are truly unable of attaching any .exe files for security reasons

Kota_in 03-27-2007 07:19 AM

Favorite email provider

Gmail for his 2,8 GB space and web chat

Silversparrow 02-22-2012 02:34 AM

I was using yahoo for a long time, now I’m using Gmail. As per my perceptions Gmail is the best, comparatively to other email providers it has more efficiency and capability.

Eleanormiller 04-27-2012 06:54 AM

Gmail is my all time favourite email provider, I’m really impressed about their efficiency also Gmail offers an amazing amount of options and features which is more secure than any other free email provider.

Hemah 05-28-2012 05:15 AM

It’s Gmail because it’s so reliable. I use Google+, Picasa, Google documents and calendar via my Gmail account, so it is easier for me to handle my works.
