DVD and Cd not operating.
 

a while back I used this program called "Muvee" after installing it my DVD, CD and Hitachi camera drivers have been disabled I get the following message.

A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)


So how do i get the system back up and running I tried the System Restore but it was more than 3 months ago and i can't get back to where i was.
I need my drives when tax time comes up next year and I don't want to completely reinstall my harddrive. I just have to much data on it.

I'm assuming you're using WinXp or 2000. Uninstall the Muvee software. In Device Manager uninstall the hardware devices that are not functioning. Reboot your computer and the devices will be reinstalled with the last drivers that were installed. Should do the trick.

a reboot is not necessary, simply choose action\check for new hardware at the top to re-install the drives.
No data will be lost in this method.
