Dual booting xp and vista

Hello, I have read with great interest about adding vista to my laptop. I know is it is vista as I have been running until a hard drive crash, and replacement with xp pro. I followed the link to a "free trial of partition majic" and it was just that, look and see, not a working version. Someone have a different way to partition my hard drive, only have a C drive with xp pro. Thank you:help:

I use GParted which is a small Linux distro and the best bit it's free and not crippleware like Partition Magic. This is a very powerful tool that works well on Windows.

Make sure you read the instructions on it's usage at the website...

GParted -- LiveCD

Well Mike, Here is another helpful hint I hope....

GAG, the Graphical Boot Manager

Gag is a freeware boot manager that will allow you to install and boot 9 different operating sytems. Believe me when I say that it is much easier to use this for dual booting than the built in one that comes with windows anything!

It loads itself at boot and allows you to choose which operating sytem you want to load. So much simpler than the old way!
