Dual Booting under XP Pro

I know it's possible to create a dual boot system with say Win982ed and XPPRO, however is it possible to have 2 installations of XP PRO so that a computer can boot to either of two different setups?.

Yeah. You have to use good software partition to do this one.You dont just partition your HD with the DOS mode. They will definitely screw you.

I agree. It is better to have a very good software to do it, otherwise most of ur programs and features will have to be reinstalled.:(

I agree with the use of good partion software. Try a copy of partition magic (sorry I don't know the latest version) I have used it in the past and its never failed me

My friend has used it, and says that it works perfectly well, and did not have any problems at all.:)

Partition magic is definatly my favorite partitioning tool, i have 3 OS on my laptop, and 5 partitions and i've never had a single problem, my desktop main drive is also split in half, and has been for a few years now. Ontop of the multi-boot it offers, in the case of a catatstrophe partitions help you save data!!

ChatMod#1 03-07-2006 06:57 PM

3 OS!!! That's take quite a bit to load. Do u use all 3 of em?

William_Wilson 03-08-2006 02:01 AM

haha, of course, it's linux/windows xp pro/(and was another version of windows) I have removed the 3rd OS as i do not use it often, but my linux i use for my skools ftp and unix server, it just has fewer issues, plus it has a features MS would never put into windows. I suppose i technically have 3 OS on it, if you want to call DOS an OS, but i never use it, it's only on there as my laptop has no cd drive or floppy drive, and i needed a base to install the other OS's from.

if you are interested in how i installed XP without any drives, you can check it out my post on another site: http://www.tech-recipes.com/windows_...n_tips870.html
I will also be adding the same information and all other posts i've made including more code examples for download on my new domain once i have enough time to finish the all the pages and layouts.
