Dual boot - Vista and XP
 

I recently purchased a new system - Intel D946GZIS motherboard with 3 Gb of RAM and two SATA drives (c: - 250 GB & d: - 500 GB) with Vista installed - and would like to dual boot XP. Vista is running with no apparent problems.

I have tried installing XP to the second drive but the install chokes on trying to format the second drive. It simply can't format the drive and aborts the install.

I have also tried installing with an earlier version of XP and received the "HAL.DLL is missing or corrupt" error.
