connecting 2 cpus to one monitor
 

I got a computer from work that I'm going to donate to a sick friend. Work didn't have a recovery disk and an admin erased stuff related to work. However, I want to hook it up to my existing desktop to see what's on it and to clean it up more to get it ready for my friend.
I'm going to run a spyware and registry fix up program, delete prefetch and defrag.
How do I hook it up to my setup and suggestions of other stuff to do to clean it up?

If it has an operating system why do you want to connect it to yours. Just boot it up and install a free anti-virus and some anti spyware/malware programs.....clean it up and give it to them.

If the computer is slow then download the programs to burn to disc and install that way.

I want to see what's still on there, that's the only reason I want to connect it to mine. Better yet. If I just hook my monitor to it, can I just pull the connection to modem and router and connect them to the extra cpu to test internet connection?

Yes, you shuld hook up the new CPU to your monitor, keyboard or whatever else you might need to get it ready. You may want to burn the tools listed above to a CD from your computer first, in case there are any internet connection issues then you already have the tools to test it.

What i was trying to get across was that there was no need to hook them up to your computer also...just connect your keyboard, mouse and monitor to the computer and turn it on. Yes the LAN cable can be connected also without any issues.
