CD drive/DVD drive...only reads CD's
 

I am trying to back up my hard drive to a DVD disk, but neither of my DVD compatible drives respond:

1: LITE-ON DVDRW SHM-165H6S
2: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-106D

Details in attachment.

They do a great job of working with CD's and the DVD works when viewing movies, but it just sits there "dead" when I try to do copying/saving to a DVD.

Suggestions?

P.S.: "ReImage" graphic below appears to be good for no other version of XP save the most basic, absent of SP2 and SP3 updates...or so the error message told me when I tried to install it.
