California Judge Blocks Anti-Violent Games Law Apparently California almost passed a law which would require some segments of games considered violent to carry a big 18% label. Apparently the judge knocked down the law due to Freedom of Speech concerns. So what are the thoughts here? Are parents even paying attention to the violence level of games their kids are buying? Would a big 18" label make any difference if the parents are not looking in the first place? Sure they might be given pause when buying the game themselves for the kids, but often kids will buy the game themselves or explain the violence aspects away to parents. |
Well I Don't Know, I Knwo I Can't GEt "M Rated" That IS 18 And Up So YEah I Guess It Would Help Stop People From Buying It... Also Mabey LAws Could BE Harder On What T Is ANd M SO Yeah..... I Play Alot Of War Games, But There Almost All Rated T For Teen. |
In Australia, it is not allowed to have or seel or even buy R18+ games. The maximum available in Australia is MA15+. So i can't play a lot of great games like GTA, etc.:( |
I do not agree to block or prohibit at all. I consider child educations comes from their parents. They should know what games child plays or not. I don't agree a 17 years old dude is going to kill people because he plays GTA. |
Yes i agree with you. If every single person that plays violent games like GTA and other games like that, that would mean that like 100million will be killed easily, which is just not true. |
So, what do you guys think of those kids/young guys who go out and mimic a game on the streets? I've heard stories, though it is rare. If someone can say anti-cop rap music influenced them to go shoot a cop or lead a life of murder... why can't someone say the same for a violent video game? Not that I"m saying this would justify the behavior or act. I agree parents should be more aware of what their kiddies are doing and just plain raising them better to begin with. |
Yes, that's true. It's not true that every single kid who plays violent games will end up killing somebody. |
