Black Screen on laptop startup
 

Hello All,
I have a Laptop Pavillion dv-7 4009tx running windows 7 (64) bit
Heres the last thing i did on it before the problem arised.
Before shutting down i noticed something about the bios probably updating or displaying a message but i didnt take much notice of it as i am use to seeing Microsoft Windows updating in the background without my interaction, i shutdown my laptop and when i powered it back on its just goes to a black screen.
I can hear the fan and see the power lights and hard drive lights on but only a black screen displays. I cant even get to the bios setup or into windows.
I tried taking out the battery and unplugging the power cord and then push the power button on my laptop for 30-60 seconds and then putting the battery back in and plugging the power cord in for a restart but still the same and also plugged in an external monitor with no change.
I went on the HP website to download the latest bios update for this model and stored it on my pen drive and tried booting from it hoping to update or fix bios but my laptop wont boot from it or maybe the bios setting not set to boot from pen drive? Maybe booting from a cd with the update might work, i tried it but that didnt work either. Please help me and any advice will be much appreciated thank you :frown:

i have a dell monitor. i am facing something same problem in this but i think it's starting up.
