Best Browser

What browser do you use, Before FF came, I used to like IE a lot, but FF has changed all that, the most attractive thing about FF is tabbed-browsing, also i think it loads fast enough, has got a powerful popup blocker, is compliant with the w3c standards, and more importantly , it is free and supported by the open source community!

JustNewbie 01-08-2006 09:02 AM

I am still using IE. Since all the websites are designed how it will be looked in IE and well I think IE is still dominating all of the browsers. It is said that 95% of the web surfers use IE, I'm not sure the data is still correct in the present day. However, FireFox is going to take over IE, I know that and I will try FireFox in the near future.

CMan 01-09-2006 11:44 PM

FireFox is by far the best, IMO, lots of good features, especially how you can have diffrent tabs open. I also like the diffrent plugins you can get. Firefox got alot of nice improvements with the new release (1.5)

I'm using Firefox, it's more stable than IE and I love its many features -- tabbed browsing being the top one. :)

austin 01-14-2006 08:00 PM

Eh...Well, I used to use firefox until Opera became free without ads...I actually like Opera more than I did FireFox just because Opera is just as fast (in my opinion) and it looks a lot better with an equal number of features :)

ChatMod#1 01-23-2006 01:43 AM

I use both IE as well as Firefox. I can't really choose between both of them.

Re

Opera is the all time best browser. If you don't have it yet, you should get it. Once you use to for like an hour max, you won't ever be able to go back to any of the other ones. That's just how cool it is.

Twinkle 02-06-2006 06:16 AM

Opera is the one of the best browser in thw world.

-Tabbed browsing
-Fast and unstopable Browser
-Image hide option
-Pop-up bloked
-Easy handling.
-Free and fast supports from fourms:)
-New unrealesed version of opera (opera 9) is enbled of antibugs. :)

Missie 02-06-2006 01:22 PM

Re

Awesome Twinkle! Another Opera user. They are rare lol.

eShutterBUG 02-09-2006 07:25 PM

Firefox wins HANDS DOWN. IE has no tabs and it's never met my appeal. Opera is so screwed up on my computer with this stupid log-in popup every 2 minutes that I can't get to go away. And when I log in it doesn't work anyways. Safari is pretty cool but I can't get it on Dell obviously, so I vote Firefox.

Juanzo 02-21-2006 10:07 PM

I love Opera, but with so many handy extensions for Firefox, I only use it at work (I have to convince my boss to allow me work with Firefox heh)

JadedSage 02-26-2006 07:07 AM

Add me to the list of Firefox lovers. This browser has been a godsend in so many ways. I hate when I am forced to use Internet Explorer on another computer. Firefox has so many wonderful extensions and themes, too.

I did try Opera for a while. It's ok. Better than IE, but not better than Firefox, in my opinion.

William_Wilson 03-10-2006 12:59 AM

IE7 brings in tabbing and many other features such as phishing blocker. It still has issues as all MS software does... well all software has issues, but it is definatly a changed browser... ALL for the better!!
Opera is a decent browser, but i still like my FF, don't know why, just do.

Risherz 03-12-2006 02:49 AM

When I'm on Windows I always use Firefox, mainly because like the others said the amount of extensions that are created. I would use Opera but I just don't like the style it renders things in, besides it doesn't have extensions to make life easier. Although Firefox might run on a XUL based engine which might take up a bit more memory space, I don't really mind. IE and IE7 are definitely what I am going to use right now. Mainly because IE 6 is too slow and IE 7 still has a long way to go in terms of compatibility and how it renders things.

While I'm on my mac it's a different story... If I'm writing a post or perhaps writing an e-mail or something like that I usually prefer Safari because of the in built spell check it has. When I'm just browsing around I prefer Firefox or Camino (well Camino is designed for OS X so it just makes the browsing experience all the more better, not to mention the GUI). So it's sort of like a three way tie between Safari, Firefox and Camino, depending on what I want to do...

avona 03-23-2006 06:11 PM

Agree Opera is the best one , I do like some features of firefox as well. the best feature in opera is tabbed browsing it makes browsing very easy
image hiding option too is great

TwistedElegance 03-26-2006 08:25 AM

Not surprised to see the overwhelming number of Firefox users here at SysChat. I absolutely love the FF browser! I hate when I have to use IE. :icon_twisted: I would use Opera (and have several times) but there are a few things I can't acquire my taste to.

Kick Starting Firefox

Firefox is the best, and you can speed and tweak it even more, this works for dial up and broadband both. But when I get in the Mood for IE, I use the Alternative - Advanced Browser. It is FAST. Get it at But Let's Make Firefox Fly::::::

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar without the quotes and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set network.http.pipelining to true

Set network.http.proxy.pipelining to true

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set its value to 0. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

Enjoy, Devildog

i think firefox is more user friendly for downloading...but i use both...

sigs 04-20-2006 08:13 AM

presently i am using windows explorer. have heard a lot about firefox and opera and would be trying them out soon. hope to have a good experience with them too as i have had with windows explorer

joybells83 04-21-2006 01:09 PM

fire fox wins hands down

When I started using the internet used IE and after a while I got fed up with it  and somebody told me about Opera I found that was great to start off with and then all kind of things went wrong :icon_redface: and then I was told about Fire Fox :D and I've been using it ever since for about three years now. It tops the others by far. It is reliable, fast :car: and extremely easy to use. It would be the only one I'd recommend if anyone asked me.

Re: Best Browser

The best browser by far is Firefox. I started using it back in the day when it was owned by Phoenix and called Firebird. I would choose anything over IE, including Opera. Now that is a fun browser.

masterhacker 11-28-2006 04:24 AM

Please explain tabbed brousing to me

KeanuReeves 11-03-2009 03:35 AM

I would vote for FireFox, its speed and plenty of pluings... Google chrome is also a fancy browser but it doesn't have much features that i need..

rads_kie 11-03-2009 04:47 AM

FireFox is the best for me, faster loading,

creks_194 11-04-2009 05:27 AM

GOOGLE CHROME IS THE BEST BROWSER; Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier.

snipehunter 05-23-2010 01:50 AM

I love firefox. It is very good.

creks_194 05-23-2010 11:57 PM

Actually I am using mozilla firefox Since three month. I have absorbed It is the best web browser. We can say it is a free and open source web browser descended from the Mozilla Application Suite and managed by Mozilla Corporation. Really Firefox protects your PC from viruses, worms, trojan horses and spyware.

RE: best browser

For me the best browser is Google chrome for several reasons. One thing it is really fast and then the next thing that even though it takes up a lot of memory and CPU, one tab crashing has no effect on the other tabs as for each of them they have different processes.

SmallFeather 05-02-2013 06:02 AM

I use Google Chrome. It’s really good for downloading and its speed is higher than other browsers.
