Default ?Pixelator? Looking for software...

We've all seen CSI in its various incarnations by now...you know when they have a blurry, unintelligable digital image, and then they go abra-cadabra and the blurry image clears up...???

Is that software for real...and if so what are they using?

Edit: Jan 13, 2007 Boy, I thought over the last couple of months, somebody would have perked up and pointed us in a direction.
