the csx does not support booting from a usb or other external device, thus my painful experience of about 4 months trying every option before breaking down to the method described in the tutorial.
In your bios you can check all the options, but i doubt it will be there, but if there is anything that speaks of external boot or usb boot, turn it on, then go to your boot order, and place this device in the first slot and hard drive in the second slot, and presto you'll be installing in no time. Otherwise your stuck with my method, or finding another laptop (with a cd drive) that fits your laptop's hard drive for the method explained within the of the tutorial.
