Can you tell me a way to partition NTFS on a hard drive or any other solution. THANKS. ps my computer currently has no operating system and only runs in dos mode
HI Apu Shing, I've had this problem myself and I tried all different types of partitioning tools with no luck,The way I got around it is first to make sure your bios is detecting the drive by highlighting it in the bios, press enter and then press enter on auto detect,if all is ok then grab a copy of KILLDISK,it's a security tool but it overwrites any bugs or gliches on the drive, it also gives a detailed view of sectors, segments, etc, you can get a floppy or cd version here [URL="http://www.killdisk.com"] after you run it use your XP cd to create a new partition and format it,this sounds a bit extreme but I know it works and also gives you a totally clean install.
