I'm not usually one to pay for things as vital as AV, it's kinda like the water for the internet, you can go a while with out it. but eventually you have to have it.
I've use many services, as far as free goes AVG is the best, but for the best AV overall my vote is Norton. Constant updates, reliable help, and many add-ons such as password protection and firewall.
