Exclamation Maxtor Hard Drive

I have a 30G maxtor hd that keeps showing sector errors. I would like to wipe the drive. I have the orginial installation disk, however, when I try to use the disk, I keep getting the scan-disk screen showing the bad sectors. Scan-disk tries to correct or fix the bad sectors but is can't or doesn't fix the problem. I would like to wipe the drive, is there software availabe that will boot from the CD of the floppy drive and then allow me to wipe the drive?
