Recording problem

I get following message while recording
‘ Not enough memory available to complete this operation . quit one or more application to increase available memory, and then try again.
My pc configuration :
Motherboard: intel 965
Cpu : Intel core 2 Duo – E7200 @2.53 Ghz
Ram : 3 Gb
Sound : Sigma Tel High Definition Audo CODEC

Operating System : win Xp Proff Service pack 3.
