Default windows XP Prof

Hello All,

Please help me on this issue

I have a toshiba satellite u300 laptop with Windows vista preinstalled. i am trying to format it and load windows xp.

per experts i had created a windows xp with sp2 updates on the cd to work on.

right now when i put inthe cd and boot thru it its going upto page where it prompts user for install/repair options. i had selected install option as i want to format the hard drive and load only xp. but it is saying that hard drive is not present press f3 to exit.

when i took out he hard drive and plug to external hard drive the system is recognizing the hard drive as external.

Please advise. i had earlier lenovo laptop and i had the similar situation where i had to take it to store and they did something in bios setup.

i would appreciate if anyone can tell me as how to fix this problem

thanks in advance

sean
