Why do you need to download Vista Basic...You already have it?

You can't just download the operating system and use it. You must have the correct activation license.

If you wish to reinstall the operating system to your laptop...go to the manufacturer's website and download the PDF version of the operations manual. It will give you step by step directions to use the restore disc and how to reinstall the operating system to your laptop.
