Default Question for Encryption...

My question is in regards to encrypting and Image of OS. Where Image is on another HD on computer. Would that be a good idea to protect the Image from a nasty if it got on your computer. Does CrypoSuite do that?

I thought I could get some in put from you guys to see what the up/down sides are.
