FreeSpace player is on a distinguished road

Default Trouble with Descent FreeSpace

I loaded a game called Descent FreeSpace onto my new PC with Windows Vista. When I try to play, it tells me I do not have enough RAM. It is saying I have -1155 MB of RAM but I have plenty available. What can I do to correct?
