You cannot remove the tcp-ip protocol from windows xp. The system will not allow it to happen. What can be done is to damage it and render it useless but will kill your internet connection for that computer.

You can repair the protocol but it is a lengthy process that requires some major registry editing

How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) in Windows XP

and if you are not up to doing that then you can take the simple way and use a third party application that will restore it back to like new condition...

LSP-Fix - a free program to repair damaged Winsock 2 stacks

but SP2 fixed this also so that you don't really need to use third party applications for repairing the winsock

at a command prompt, type:

netsh winsock reset

Press Enter. Wait for it to finish and reboot

what is the port no for DHCP?
ports 67 and 68
