making a website

i wanted to know that if i want to build my own website, then what all languages do i need to know in order to make my own site. i dont want to pay someone to make a site for me

A basic site can be constructed completly from html but to incorporate some flare and features i highly recomend javascript and css - cascade style sheeting as well. If you are obsessed with programming and tables and neatness, you may also wish to learn php, perl and even possibly ruby. But i would stick with the first 2 or 3 listed to get it started :)
You can sign up to many sites which already offer templates for forums etc similar to this one or many other styles.

Basically to create a good site you need clean code and good graphics. So I recommend that you use a program like Dremweaver or Frontage or something like that when creating a website. And additional photoshop knowledge is a plus. Basically all you need to know is html so once you know that you should be creating website in no time.

You can lean javascript and css but it's not all that neccessary. So html should be pretty much what you might want to learn first. Then you can go into more advanced things like MySql and Php and so on.

I must say I agree with Risherz about using something like Dreamweaver to make a web site. I have used it a few times and it is very easy once you grasp the basics. Here are a few basic tutorials to get you going

I would have suggested using a CMS for your site. But it seems like you are on the edge to learn. Learning to make one is in no way comparable to getting someone to make one for you.

XHTML and CSS and top most required languages to learn right now.

If you want to create a website, the absolute minimum you must know is HTML (or xHTML). To make your site pretty, use CSS and make things more and more beautiful, use AJAX and graphics.
