How to change the name of the computer running on Windows 7?
 

Each and every computer has its own name by which it can be identified uniquely when connected in a network. There are various reasons because of which an individual wants to change the name of the computer some of them may be like you don’t want to change the name of the computer after you upgrade it so that it syncs with the printer or other devices which were connected earlier.

To change the name of the computer follow the below given steps:

Step 1: Log in to the computer as the administrator or with administrative rights.

Step 2: Click on Start, go to My Computer and right click on it.

Step 3: Now a window will open up. Choose Advanced System Settings from the pane in the left hand side.

Step 4: Another window will open up where you can see computer name. Click on the change button.

Step 5: Type in the name you want to give to your computer and click OK.

Now you have named your computer with the name you want.
