Default Dual OS Vista & XP - How to delete Vista.

Hi
I have dual OS, C:Vista and D:XP on Toshiba Satellite L300-1FQ.
1. I want to delete Vista, how can i do that without formating my Hard Drive.
2. At present my Hard Disk is in Compatibility mode, need to set to SATA, how?
