I seem to have alot of questions. Here goes again. I have installed a new cd reader/writer and supposidly it can read and write CD +/-RW and DVD +/- RW disk. It can't the software(nero) says that it can only read CD +/-RW. It can't write or read a DVD+/-RW. Help. I don't know if I need a better softwar program like Nero v7 or if I installed the writer/reader incorrectly. or perhaps the driver is the wrong one, or perhaps windows need to be reinstalled. I am perplexed with this one.

Because the drive can read and write both CD/RW and DVDs you need to tell nero what kind of disc you are making.

When you open Nero Express you should get a drop down where you can choose CD or DVD, like this:


Or in Nero Burning ROM you get a menu like this:
