AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition and Spybot - Search and Destroy are some of the best free antivirus and spyware programs

I agree with Sami. Spybot is one of the best available freeware for anti-spyware and if u r willing to spend money, then AVG 7 Pro is the best, if not AVG Free(free version)
